Ghana Statistical Service has successfully completed training of Enumerators and Supervisors for the 2021 PHC. Prospective Field Officers during the 11-day training were equipped with the knowledge and skills to collect data for the exercise through in-class lectures, mock interviews and field practices. They were also required to take the oath of secrecy. To enforce strict adherence to confidentiality as required by the Statistical Service Act, 2019 (Act 1003), all census officials have to take an oath of secrecy. Officials who violate this oath are guilty of an offense and liable to punishment.
During the closing ceremony, trainees were urged to exhibit dedication, attention to detail, and a commitment to adhering to the guidelines spelled out in the Field Officer’s Manual. They were also encouraged to embrace teamwork for the sake of the census.
