Chief Census Officer Pays Courtesy Call on the Eastern Regional Minister

A delegation led by the Government Statistician and Chief Census Officer, Professor Samuel Kobina Annim, paid a courtesy call on the Regional Minister for the Eastern Region, Honourable Seth Kwame Acheampong in Koforidua on Wednesday 31st March.

The purpose of the courtesy call was to brief the Honourable Minister on the status of census implementation, highlight key upcoming activities and request the support for the census. Professor Annim provided an overview of the census methodology and outlined the strategic areas of support needed.

Honourable Acheampong welcomed the delegation and thanked the Chief Census Officer for providing a detailed overview of the census implementation. He noted the importance of the census as the provision of a foundation to base future analysis and planning and assured the delegation of the cooperation and support of the regional leadership to ensure that the census implementation in the Eastern Region is a success. He encouraged the team to prioritise advocacy activities for the census to ensure that everyone is counted.
